| Green Bay DE Neal Calls Knee Injury Minor | |
August 17, 2011
Updated Aug 17, 2011 at 3:31 PM CDT Green Bay, WI (Northland’s NewsCenter) — Green Bay Packers defensive end Mike Neal said his left knee only has a little inflammation after putting a scare into Packers fans on Tuesday. Neal, the potential replacement for Cullen Jenkins, saw his left knee buckle during Tuesday’s practice when he fell while hitting a pad during an individual drill, leaving him on the ground in pain. Neal underwent some tests Tuesday that showed nothing serious and was scheduled for an MRI Wednesday, but said there is no reason to worry. The team wasn’t sure when Neal would return to practice, but coach Mike McCarthy was more worried Tuesday about the Packers second preseason game Friday against the Arizona Cardinals. “We’ve just had enough time to install the playbook, no review days,” McCarthy said. “It’ll just be a culmination these next couple weeks to try and review some things that we want to clean up.” The Packers will host the Cardinals Friday night at Lambeau Field with kickoff set for 7:00 p.m. In the Northland, that game can be seen on KDLH3.
