Packers win Super Bowl, Rodgers named MVP

Aaron Rodgers did not just step out of Brett Favre’s shadow. He jumped out of it. Rodgers completed 24 of 39 passes for 309 yard and three touchdowns earning himself MVP honors as the Green Bay Packers held on to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-26 on February 6 in Super Bowl XLV.

Green Bay Packers victory tour heads to New York

After bringing home the seven-pound, gleaming Lombardi Trophy that pays homage to their legendary former coach, Green Bay Packers cornerback Charles Woodson, fullback John Kuhn and team president and CEO Mark Murphy are going to see “Lombardi” on Broadway on Tuesday night. The Packers and their wives were invited to attend by producers of the Broadway play based on the Vince Lombardi biography “When Pride Still Mattered” by Pulitzer Prize-winning author David Maraniss. The Packers’ party, expected to be accompanied by running back Ryan Grant who was on injured reserve since injuring an ankle in Week 1, is scheduled to ring the New York Stock Exchange’s closing bell on Wednesday.

Green Bay Packers players, alumni back Wisconsin union workers rights

MADISON — Five former and two current Green Bay Packers players are standing behind state union employees. The seven NFL Players Association members have signed a letter supporting the AFL-CIO’s efforts against Gov. Scott Walker’s budget plan to end collective bargaining rights for nearly all public employees.
